The town itself is what looks unattractive, not the Rehbein guesthouse. I've stayed there several times and found the atmosphere great, along with the breakfast and staff. If someone hasn't even stayed there, they shouldn't post a one-star review.

We felt at home straight away in the bright, spacious room, which was tastefully furnished. Everything was very clean and well kept, from the room and bathroom to the rest of the house. Although we arrived without a reservation and asked for a room on the spot, we were welcomed warmly. Breakfast was lovingly prepared, and they catered to our vegetarian request. The other guests were very friendly too. I'd definitely recommend it.

Mrs. Hartmann really is the heart of the Rehbein Guesthouse. We came to Calbe for a short vacation, and the clean, comfortable rooms made for a lovely stay. There was everything we needed at the lovingly prepared breakfast buffet, including homemade jam that's worth trying. Mrs. Hartmann also shared plenty of tips for places to visit. We'd be happy to return.
