Hotel Schlömer

The location put us close to everything, and our room was clean and had all we needed for a short stay. We were there from Friday 22/11/24 to Monday 25/11/24. The owners were very nice and the staff excellent. Superb, and I’d thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We stayed in the apartments, which you reach by going outside at the back of the hotel. We checked in late on October 13th for one night, then had to extend our stay and checked out October 17th, Monday. The booking was under my husband's name. I hope that helps identify the stay. It would have been good to know at check-in that breakfast wasn't included in the room rate. We only found that out at checkout. We booked at the last minute because of unexpected circumstances, and I wouldn't stay there unless I really had to. The place felt dirty, cheaply made, and poorly maintained. The supplies for refreshing the room weren't good or sufficient, and the service was poor. The room wasn't cleaned or refreshed properly. Given the overall low standard of cleanliness, I had doubts about the hygiene of the linens and towels. The one positive feeling was that we were supporting a local family business, but they need to run it much better.

It was just a short walk to the high street, and the staff spoke enough English to get us checked in. We stayed one night with family. Our double ensuite had a shower; some of the ensuites have baths, and the bathrooms were massive. Lovely rooms and a great location.

No issues during our stay. The location was good and breakfast very good. It's maintained well for what it is, though it isn't high end and I wouldn't give it four stars. Decent enough for a night.
