The breakfast was almost more than we could manage, in a good way: fresh butter, meats and cheeses with crisp pastries, plus eggs cooked different ways, yoghurt and some kind of pancakes. Coffee was tasty and fresh, and there were several teas to choose from. We also had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant, with delicious food made mostly from local produce, good wines including natural ones my wife loves, and excellent non-alcoholic choices. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed, and we slept well after strolling through the charming park. In the morning we could hear birds in the trees outside. The dining hall where breakfast was served is stunning, and instead of a buffet they bring out a pleasant selection to the table. From the moment we arrived until we left, my wife and I enjoyed our time at this distinctive old castle hotel, perched on a hilltop in the middle of the forest. The buildings and rooms strike a nice balance between old and new. The operators were involved from the start and throughout our stay, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a relaxed feel, comfortable chairs, and impeccable service. Magnificent, we had a great stay and highly recommend it. We'll be back soon!
