Best Western Blankenburg Hotel

The rooms and bathroom were clean, and the hotel has a nice modern style. Breakfast was substantial, the Wi-Fi was fast, and reception and service were nice. I'm an American visiting friends in Coburg, and I'll definitely stay here again. Big thumbs up!!

The breakfast was the best we've had in two weeks in Europe. There was so much to choose from, and everything was presented beautifully and was high quality. Even the linens and silverware were spotless, with that old-world charm and service. The staff were friendly and great with customer service, taking care of our requests for a fan during the summer heat wave, an iron and board, and change for the vending machine. It's also handy to have the machine there and hot water for coffee and tea at any hour. Fantastic experience, it's hard to find service this good.

Arthur's Pub on the main floor was a friendly place to chat with the other tradespeople working in Port Hope. It has quality classic British pub food, good daily specials, plenty of beers on tap and in bottles or cans, plus a wide liquor selection. Suzanne on staff was especially understanding, knowledgeable, and friendly. My room was inviting and exceptionally clean, from the carpet and mattress to the sheets, furniture, and bathroom. After staying at the Comfort Inn in Port Hope, I don't plan to go back there. Best Western showed me what a hotel should be like!

We stayed for two nights with our family in July 2021 and had one of our best hotel experiences. The service and rooms were excellent, and the staff made sure Covid restrictions were followed while still adding special touches. Since bread baskets weren't allowed, we chose our rolls ahead of time and got them in a paper bag with a little message on it. Small surprises like that made us feel very welcome, and showed such a lovely eye for detail. We'd booked a package with vouchers for several sights, which worked perfectly. Thank you, we wholeheartedly recommend staying here.
