A cool place to stay, with an authentic feel and lots of care in the details.

The mountain setting gives you a lovely view over the valley, and there are wooden sculptures in all kinds of designs all over it. It's a pretty unique place, just outside town. We felt comfortable throughout: the welcome was very friendly, the rooms were tidy and clean, and it was quiet. The food was very good too.

Our room had two bedrooms and a bathroom, so there was plenty of space for our bags and our dog. They welcomed him warmly, and the room was very comfortable. The restaurant has been beautifully restored in a simple, tasteful Art Nouveau style. Although it was meant to be closed that evening, they still made us a delicious dinner. Breakfast was just as good, and both meals were presented with care. A booking mistake meant we could stay a second night after all. Thanks again for being flexible and so attentive. We left wanting to come back, and can highly recommend the Beckenbergbaude. The chef/owner is a wonderful cook, and even a meal at the restaurant is worth a visit if you're not staying over.
