The bedroom blinds gave us some trouble, but that was the only snag. We arrived late, just in time to order, and the food was simply fantastic. The staff were so warm and helpful. For a one-night stay, this was easily our most enjoyable experience anywhere in Germany so far. Loved it. Thank you.

The showers in both rooms took some figuring out, and we flooded the floor the first time we used them, so be ready for that. The hotel is downtown, where street cleaning starts early and gets busy. Make good use of the shutters 😄 Our rooms were spacious, and they brought our luggage up for us. We had a wonderful dinner and a great espresso at breakfast. Service was great.

The staff were great, though breakfast was a little simple. My room was okay, but the noise was the main issue. It was next to the street, so I could hear every car and person.

I really love the beds and bedding here. The rooms are small, and the church bells mean you don't need to set an alarm. The employees and owners are properly dressed, and the place is very clean. There's a playground nearby for kids, plus shopping and a family atmosphere. Parking is secure and right out front. There aren't many rooms, so book early. The hotel is next to St. James or Jakobikirche, in the heart of Coesfeld, right on the St. James trail. Pilgrims started here and walked to Portugal, which makes it a perfect spot and one of Coesfeld's best hotels. The food is great, the breakfast buffet is definitely the best, and the outdoor seating is luxurious. It's one of three places in Coesfeld I'd recommend, and it's always been my favorite because of the name. It reminds me of David Hasselhoff and Baywatch, my hometown beaches back in California, and how he brought down the Berlin Wall single-handedly. But I digress. The dining and service are excellent. Tell them I sent you. Just ask and I'll join you for breakfast anytime, or lunch or dinner.
