They call it "Pet friendly", but apparently that only applies to dogs. People travel with cats too. Accepting cats would mean less cleaning for you than accepting only dogs, and neither the website nor Booking.com mentions this restriction.

The free breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly. My room carpet needs cleaning, though, and the TV didn't work during the two days I was there. Public transport is 15 to 20 minutes away, and the neighborhood isn't walkable. The cleaners also banged on my door aggressively, over and over.

I lost money, time and nerves here. This was infuriating, and I strongly advise staying far away. I booked Select Hotel Silence Garden Köln expecting peace and comfort, but found dirt everywhere, loud construction, and a hotel that looked nothing like the photos. I refused to spend even one night there and left straight away. The front desk promised a refund and admitted there was a problem, but no money ever came back, and they started ignoring my messages. The rooms are outdated, the hallways are dusty and full of renovation materials, and the whole place feels depressing. Calling it a “Silence Garden” is a joke. It's more like “Noise and Lies Hotel.” This place felt like a complete scam.

The construction work better work miracles, because right now I'd tell people to stay away. Half the hotel was being renovated, but nobody mentioned it before booking or when we checked in. Our room was poor: the shower was broken, the locker didn't work, and the window wouldn't close properly. Breakfast had been quite good on my previous visit, but this time it was a joke. At checkout we waited ten minutes before anyone showed up at the desk, and I sometimes wonder if the staff even care. Even with low expectations for a cheap hotel, especially based on my last stay, this was far below what I expected.
