Garten-Hotel Ponick

Good prices, a quiet neighborhood, and friendly staff made for a great stay.

The hotel was handy for my work in Lövenich, and also well placed for Cologne city center. The tram station is just around the corner, with a 20 minute ride into the center. Staff were wonderful and very accommodating. There are two supermarkets and several nice restaurants within a five minute walk, plus a nearby shopping mall with all sorts of shops. My room was clean and tidy, and the hotel sits on a quiet, safe little suburban street.

The garden is lovely and peaceful, and you can eat out there or use the dining area. There isn't a restaurant on site, but you can order food in, and staff were happy to bring me a plate and cutlery. Breakfast is continental with enough choice. Housekeeping came every two days and left my clean, modern room neatly presented. On arrival, check-in was easy and the staff were super helpful. Reception can direct you to nearby shops and restaurants, including a mall with plenty of stores. I'd recommend the hotel for a business trip or a vacation with your partner.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff member who welcomed us called before we arrived, then showed us around the hotel and our room. She also provided laundry and breakfast. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the coffee and tea were made just right. We booked through Priceline at short notice because we needed a place for the night. There was no air conditioning, though. We slept with the windows open and got sinus attacks that we were still dealing with a week later.
