The rooms are clean, comfortable enough, and perfectly livable, and the hotel is well located with easy connections. This was my second stay during a hot Cologne summer, and I missed having A/C. They don’t have it, though they do provide a fan. Apart from that, the room was very nice.

The room was fine, and the hotel was nice enough for a one-night stay. The shower was another story, though. It had an old-fashioned curtain, which felt unhygienic for a hotel. Breakfast was disappointing too, so I’d skip it.

A basic, no-frills place. We slept well on a very comfortable bed, and check-in was easy. The breakfast buffet was nice, too. Our neighbors were noisy at night, and the hotel is a bit farther from the markets than we’d hoped. The shower could use an update.

I’m a week into a five-week work stay in Cologne, and Hotel Begardenhof has been a great find. The rooms are spacious and lovely, the service is great, and breakfast is excellent. They even put the daily newspaper in my room while I’m out at work, without any fuss. Getting into the city is easy from the nearby train station, about 15 minutes away, and the hotel is easy to find. So far, it’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.
