Comfort Boardinghouse

It's a small-town idyll with the big city close by, and there's almost everything you need: shops, restaurants, and even bars on the Rhine, without mass tourism. Want that? A drive of a few kilometers along the riverbank takes you to Cologne's old town. The apartments are well equipped, and the kitchens have everything needed for cooking. I stayed here for almost all of August 2021. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. It works well for both short and long stays. 😀

The location is quiet, with transport links about a 5-10 minute walk away. Shops like LIDL, Rewe, and Aldi are 2-10 minutes on foot. Cologne city center is about 20 minutes by bike, and the Rhine riverbank is 500 meters away. There's a nature reserve 1 kilometer away, and the cycle paths are well developed. Parking is available for three vehicles, or you can park on the street. I stayed at the Boardinghouse Rodenkirchen in April and May 2021, then again from April to June. Both times I had apartments C5 and E6 on the top floor. E6 is better for shorter people because of the sloping ceiling. The kitchen was well equipped, and anything missing or broken was quickly obtained or replaced. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and I had a very pleasant stay. My colleagues were completely satisfied too. I'd definitely come back, perhaps for a longer stay. Ralf Ohnmacht
