For what you pay, the room amenities and service don't measure up. There’s no minibar, and cleaning, fresh towels, emptying the trash, and replenishing toilet paper all happen only if you ask.

The cleaners were great, and the rooms themselves are nice, but hallway noise comes right through. Please fix the doors. The restaurant food was sad, so skip it unless poor man's nachos without even a paper plate sounds appealing. The location is nowhere near the sights. The tram was out when we visited, and the bus stop is a couple of blocks away.

The bar has an interesting feel and the service there was friendly. The hotel is beautiful, with nicely decorated rooms, and breakfast was good, though sadly there was no bacon.

The smoke from cigarettes and grilled meat in the restaurant below kept coming into our rooms because the ventilation either doesn't work or is badly designed. The hotel knows about it but didn't warn us before arrival. Our first room smelled heavily of smoke. When we raised it, staff said it was from the restaurant and offered another room, while warning it might have the same issue. We took it, and it was better for the first night. On the second night the smoke was back, like sleeping in a BBQ restaurant kitchen. Awful and disgusting, especially for a hotel costing hundreds of Euros a night. The bottom sheet in our first room was dirty, with different kinds of hair on it, and looked like it hadn't been changed in a long time. They were meant to replace it, but instead took it off and put a new, torn sheet over the bare mattress. The mattress is cheap foam, and when you sit down you can feel the bare bed frame underneath. I went down the night before to ask about changing the dirty sheets, but there was a long check-in line and just one staff member, who couldn't even get to the ringing phone. I slept on the dirty sheets, then tried again in the morning. A woman looked at me like I was an alien while I explained, and said they needed 24 hours' notice for room cleaning. I can't wait to leave. For the price, this is the worst hotel I've stayed at in Germany, and possibly the worst I've ever stayed in.
