Station Hostel For Backpackers

The beds are comfortable, and the location is perfect. Beyond that, the place feels poorly maintained. A strong smell of damp and drains comes from the bathroom, almost suffocating. At 50€ a night it doesn't feel worth the price, though for just one night you can get by.

The location was great, but there wasn't really anywhere to sit away from people sleeping, and the bar area wasn't always open. No kitchen or way to get hot water either, though that was fine for my few days there. One night was so noisy on one of the floors that even earplugs didn't make it easy to sleep.

Getting around was easy, with the main station and church only a couple of minutes away and plenty of both pricey and budget restaurants on the street. I also felt safe: you need your room key for the main entrance, the floor hallway, and your room. And having no bunk beds was a real plus. The lockers could use an update, and the toilet windows could do with a curtain or sticker. Those are small fixes. The negative reviews I'd read didn't match my stay at all. It was convenient and good value.

The bar was nice and reasonably priced, and the shower had strong hot water. The location is hard to beat, right by the main train station and a short walk from the cathedral. The room and bed were comfortable, but the place didn't seem well maintained. The IKEA furniture and layout weren't really to my taste, some cupboards had peeling veneer, and the old corridor lockers had broken parts. The curtains let in a lot of light, including morning sun right on my face. Someone was sleeping in my assigned bed, so I had to move to another room, which wasn't ideal.
