Minotel Servatius

A nice place for a work stay. My general impression was positive, and the breakfast was really nice, with plenty of local salads to choose from. I liked the lobby’s mix of classic and modern design. The room was clean and practical, and a taxi arrived within about 3 minutes. It’s around 15 minutes by taxi to Koelnmesse, and you can go anywhere by taxi, but don’t count on public transport since I didn’t see anything close to the hotel. There’s nothing to eat at night in the hotel or nearby, so bring water and food. Drinks and water are available in a fridge on the ground floor. After 9 p.m. reception closes, and you enter through a side door using your key, which is left in a box. The hotel gives instructions, so that isn’t a problem. Don’t expect much of a window view. If you know these little things, the stay should be comfortable and pleasant.

From the outside, you wouldn’t expect how nice the inside is. The rooms are large and clean, and reception has great, quirky decor. Staff were helpful, and both reception and breakfast service were great. There’s a good range at breakfast, and the bar stays open at night. Some shops, restaurants, and the train station are within walking distance.

The location wasn’t very convenient for me. It took about 15 minutes to reach public transport, so I ended up taking taxis because that was quickest. The hotel itself was quite comfortable, with friendly staff and delicious breakfasts. Those divine mini croissants were my favorite. I’ve never had tastier ones anywhere.

The staff were kind and attentive, and we felt very welcome. Breakfast was very good, with plenty to choose from, though we would have preferred stronger coffee. It didn’t spoil anything. There’s free parking in front of the hotel, and it’s easy to reach downtown by public transport or on foot. Our room was spacious enough, with a good bathroom, and everything was clean. Disinfection sprays were available in the lobby and breakfast room as an extra precaution. Great value for the price.
