Haven - Hotel am Stadion

An average stay. The hallways looked worrying, with what seemed to be blood and feces stains. There are no lifts, so we had to help an elderly woman with the stairs. Parking was okay, just outside the door, and luckily we found a space each day. All in all, not bad, but not great.

The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to help. The hotel is quiet and everything was very clean. It's a lovely little place with a great Sixties style. The rooms are simple but have what you need: a bed, desk, big trunk for clothes, and satellite TV. The bathroom is separate, on the same floor. Breakfast costs a little extra, but it's very good, with muesli, an egg, warm buns, and a selection of good bread.

My room, #3, was comfortable and quiet, and the breakfast was fresh and healthy. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's quality despite the very negative reviews. I'd definitely stay again. Check-in was a little tricky because I arrived on a Sunday, when the reception desk isn't usually staffed. They had emailed clear instructions for getting in and finding my room key, but the message went to my bulk or spam folder. That wasn't the hotel's fault, so check those folders if your instructions don't arrive. The other two reservation emails had reached my main inbox.

We spent a short weekend here with family and really liked the location. The sightseeing spots were only a few minutes away. It's a very nice hotel to stay at, and we'll definitely come back.
