Hotel Berliner Hof Dallgow

The hotel sits in a lovely spot on Berlin's outskirts and is nicely furnished, though you can hear steady traffic from the B5. I only needed somewhere to stay at short notice because of a personal emergency, and Hotel Berliner Hof worked out very well. Everyone on staff, management included, was happy to help with special requests, including charging my e-bike. Thanks for such a lovely stay. I'd happily come back.

Getting into the hotel was a surreal experience. It was locked when I arrived, so I had to call and get instructions for opening a key box to reach the building and my room. There was no heating, apparently no room service, and no breakfast. I also got no reply after asking several times for a certificate. It seems to run without staff. The location wasn't great either, and since my work department had booked it, I ended up there. I can't recommend it at all.

The setting is lovely and peaceful, and the rooms are nice. Staff were friendly, getting around by road is convenient, and there's a big shopping mall nearby.

We booked one night with our child, and the state of the place was shocking. It was filthy, with dirty windows and no curtains or blinds, so we couldn't make the room dark. The bathroom cabinet was damaged, and the floor lamp had a broken, obviously homemade switch with wires exposed. Our child got a small injury from it. That's unacceptable, especially with kids. There was nobody on site, so we could only call the owner. She was very rude and denied the problems, saying she had a prosecutor and a doctor in her family. She also said she'd “seen us on the camera,” though there was no notice anywhere about video surveillance. That seems legally questionable too. We did get a refund after making a strong complaint, but the accommodation was filthy and run-down, and the way we were treated was unacceptable. I absolutely wouldn't recommend it, especially for anyone with a child.
