The food was just what you'd hope for at a family-run place: locally sourced ingredients, excellent guesthouse cooking, and a local Spätburgunder from nearby Wertheim that went well with dinner. The local beer was good too. We only stayed one night while crossing Germany, but we'd happily do that again. It’s a short drive from the A3 at Rohrbrunn, and the shift from the busy Autobahn to the peaceful, beautiful Gasthof is lovely. We were warmly welcomed, and our room was a good size, comfortable, and well equipped. From the balcony, we looked out over a snow-covered field leading up to the forest. There are plenty of walking and cycling trails if you stay for a few nights. A thoroughly enjoyable stop, though it felt too short.

Breakfast was delicious, and the service then was excellent. The spacious rooms are still tastefully and modernly decorated within a charming rustic building, the surroundings are beautiful, and there’s plenty of parking. We came back after a great stay last year, but this visit with our small baby was disappointing. I had booked directly on the hotel website and clearly said we’d be bringing a baby. The site says baby beds are free, yet there wasn’t one in the room when we arrived. Room service responded quickly, but the wooden crib they brought was meant for a toddler, not an infant. We were put on the second floor with no elevator, which made getting around with a stroller difficult. The room was also below 18°C, uncomfortable especially with a baby, even though the hotel seems to present itself as kid-friendly.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were kind. It felt very safe here. The place is wonderfully quiet, surrounded by nature, with forest walks starting right nearby. Highly recommend it.

It’s a very peaceful spot and a good base for walkers. The staff were great, and the hotel was pleasant, with spotless rooms and good fittings and amenities. The food was good too. It would be perfect for me if they added spa facilities.
