The cottage was cozy and really clean, and we could properly switch off thanks to all the space and lovely nature around us. It was so quiet, and at night the sky was full of stars with no artificial light around. Our dogs could roam freely in the fenced area, while the animals often came right up to the door. We loved waking to the donkeys braying, pigs grunting, and horses’ hooves. There were horses, ponies, sheep, pigs, goats, donkeys, chickens, and the owners’ two dogs. Dogs are welcome, which was a big plus for us. The owners are incredibly sweet, and we had some really nice, interesting conversations with them. We only got to stay for two weeks, which felt far too short. We had a wonderful time, and it’s a great place if you want peace away from stress. ♥️👍🏻

Our little one was so sad to leave that she fell asleep on the drive home, then woke up when we arrived and started crying. She said she wanted to go back to the apartment! We were thrilled with our week at the Zechenhaus in mid-June, and it was clear the children loved it too. Henk and Anja are kind, welcoming people who really love kids. We’ll definitely be back. We’ve spent a week and a half here with our two dogs and our 14-year-old daughter, and it’s been pure relaxation. Such a beautiful place. We’ll definitely return next year!

The accommodation was lovely, and the surroundings are beautiful. Best of all, the owners were so friendly. We had a wonderful holiday and would definitely recommend staying here!

Henk and Anja made us feel very welcome and were so helpful throughout our stay. The setting is lovely, with fields and woods just a short walk away. We had a wonderful time.
