Moxy Darmstadt

Andrii at the bar was kind and quick with service. Check-out, though, took almost 10 to 15 minutes; they should have two people on check-out instead of check-in. The bathroom was very small, with nowhere to put a beauty case, and the shower curtains let water go all over the place. I would've preferred a quieter lobby where I could work or relax. Maybe it's normal in Germany for nobody to come clean and tidy the room. It's a good hotel, but those things bothered me.

Never again. In the middle of winter, I was given a room with no heating, as other reviews apparently mentioned. When I complained at reception, they had a portable heater ready to offer, so they clearly knew about the problem. They refused to refund my second night when I wanted to move to another hotel, and instead put me in a cheaper room. The room wasn't spotless either, and there was a lot to say about the cleaning.

The staff were great and friendly, and the rooms were comfortable. It's an excellent place for a short stay when traveling, for example, to go skiing. Parking in the area is limited and unpaid.

For a night or two, this very basic hotel is tolerable if you don't expect much. There are better options nearby. The bed is comfortable enough, the shower has good flow, the curtains block all light, the lobby is nice, and the 24-hour mini-bar at reception is handy. On the downside, there's no AC, a couple of spots were a little dirty, and corridor noise carries. They messed up my late check-out and woke me early despite the do not disturb sign. I paid €40 for that rude wake-up because their cleaners can't speak English. I complained at check-out and again by email, but two weeks later there was still no response. The misleading reply here is gaslighting.
