We really enjoyed our week here, and I doubt it’ll be our last stay. The area’s great for cycling and hiking, but it’s just as easy to unwind by the nearby Weser. We also took a trip to the butterfly park in Uslar, which is worth a visit. There’s plenty of information material in the apartment, and the terrace has seasonal fruit and vegetables guests can help themselves to. The holiday apartment is lovely and well equipped, and the landlords are very nice.

There’s plenty to do around Delliehausen, from the swimming lake and Kneipp spa to the campsite and the huge, unspoiled forests. The village itself is a small charcoal-burning settlement in the middle of Solling Nature Park. Its simple but lovely half-timbered chapel dates back to 1748 and is dedicated to Saint George. People say the dragon slayer brings good luck to this Protestant place of worship. Right opposite, there’s a traditional inn for visitors, with overnight stays in either the grand guesthouse or the cozy holiday apartments.
