Lodge 1854

Everything was good! Such a nice place, with a really cute owner and a special design to the house.

We had such a good time here with our friends and will absolutely come back. The farmhouse is beautifully renovated, very cozy, and tucked away in nature somewhere quiet. The hospitality made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the sports activities during the day, then the pizza oven and pool table in the evening. Definitely recommended!

Privacy was a real problem for us. We rented the lodge for a family anniversary, with the owner's daughter handling the booking and all the communication beforehand. Once we arrived, though, the hostess, her mother, lived right next door and was the person we mostly dealt with. I found her extremely intrusive. She kept turning up without warning in the middle of the room to ask if everything was “okay”. This happened at dinner, while we were making pizzas in the garden, during get-togethers, and at breakfast. She would stay for a long time and comment on how guests behaved and how things in the house were being used. After a while, the constant checking became unbearable and badly affected the atmosphere. It was very unpleasant and unsettling for both the birthday celebrant and the guests. The weekend cost us a considerable amount, and at that price I expected some respect, trust, and privacy as a tenant. We didn't get that here.

The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. Since I snored a lot, she even let us use an empty room for one night so everyone could sleep, without charging extra. The lodge is beautifully furnished, with lots of space and things to do. Highly recommended. We'd definitely stay again, whether for a weekend with friends or with the whole family.
