Clubhostel

I’d give it one star now and wouldn’t recommend staying there. I’d used this hostel several times on trips back to my country, and things had usually been fine, even under its previous name. I came back a few times after the owner and name changed, but one winter visit was awful. Around January or February, I arrived at 1 or 2 AM, planning to sleep and leave early. My ground-floor room had no heating at all. It was freezing, so I slept in my boots, jacket, and hat. At that hour there was no staff around to help, and with code-based entry, there was nobody to turn to. No heating in winter!!

The easy check-in was appreciated, and for the price I got the sort of services I’d expect from a premium hostel. I met some cool people there, and we later explored the city together. I was in Dessau for a conference and found the place on Hostelworld, then decided to book. It had apparently reopened a while earlier, and I’m glad I stayed. My private standard room was spacious and very clean, with a TV for streaming movies in the evening and a working table. The location worked well for me, and I’d recommend it to other people traveling to Dessau.

It was easy to get help whenever we needed it, and the staff were prompt and kind. Our rooms were exceptionally clean, and we were welcomed so warmly. Being so close to the city center was really convenient. We’re very grateful for the hospitality and support. Thank you :))

The breakfast comes served downstairs on the ground floor, not as a buffet, and there are a few choices. The “big breakfast set” really is quite big. There’s also a garage that’s been converted into bike storage, with room for 12 bikes and a few sockets for charging electric bikes. My street-facing room stayed almost silent even with the window open. Wi-Fi is free, and each room has the password on a laminated card. The place is nice and clean. One small note about the floor: despite what the signs say, the breakfast area is on the ground floor. For some reason Germans sometimes call that the basement, as I’ve seen in quite a few places.
