I felt comfortable staying here, especially with the strict covid-19 measures in place at the time, which helped me feel safe. The hotel is one of the nicer places in Dessau for getting a feel for the Bauhaus. The master's houses of the Bauhaus movement are right across the street, and the original Bauhaus building is an easy walk away. One small concern: the front garden is used as a smoking area.

The lack of an elevator means you'll need to climb two flights of stairs, so if you book, ask for the FIRST floor (the SECOND floor in the USA). The hotel itself is clean, affordable, and in an excellent Dessau location, right across from the Bauhaus Master Houses. Reception staff didn't seem keen to help and were not very accommodating when I asked basic questions, such as museum opening times. The woman in the breakfast room was the friendliest person there. It's a good place to stay if you're fine with no elevator.

The hotel sits in a quiet, green part of Dessau, directly opposite the Meisterhäuser of Gropius, Kandinsky and Klee. Breakfast offered lots of good choices, though service could be rough and the staff weren't especially friendly. They were strict about the hours too, and we couldn't get coffee after 10:00 in the morning. Still, I can recommend the hotel.

Having grown up nearby years ago, I enjoyed seeing what had stayed the same in Dessau and what had changed. The hotel was a great part of the visit. My family and I had a few special requests, and the staff handled them professionally and with a smile. Thank you for having us!

One of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in. The staff were very friendly 👌 and the cleaning team deserves my compliments 😉
