I spent a week here for work in Donauwörth. The hotel was quiet and spacious throughout, and the room was incredibly clean, the cleanest I’ve seen after hundreds of hotel nights over the past years. It had a kitchenette with utensils, enough to prepare meals though not especially well stocked. The bed was comfortable, and there was a large triple-glazed door to a small balcony. Roller blinds could make the room pitch black. It’s a ten-minute walk to the Danube/Donau, and the shops are a 3min drive away. The big issue for me was the heat in the room and lack of aircon. I was there in early autumn, when it was about 8deg C at night and 19deg C during the day, and the room was still warm enough to walk around in shorts. I kept the large outside window/door open 24/7, but the floor still felt warm. I think the floor heating may be on permanently, since the controls were set to zero and it stayed warm all the time. This would be a show-stopper for me in summer. Based on my stay, I’d recommend it in the cooler months, probably not in summer. The staff were friendly and helped with questions. Breakfast was available for €12/day, but I found the buffet a bit average and made my own instead. Washing cost $2 per wash and $2 per dry. There were two vending machines downstairs, but they only took coins. A card reader would make more sense in a cashless society.

Without air conditioning, the heat and humidity in the room are horrible in summer, so I wouldn’t recommend staying here then. For a long stay, I’d recommend it during the rest of the year, but not for a short one.

I don’t understand what kind of hotel this is. There’s no room service, and not even a bottle of water in the room. If you arrive late, you have to check yourself in at a machine. My wife and I were thirsty all night because at 11pm everything was closed and there wasn’t anywhere to get water. I really don’t advise tourists to stay here. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable, and the shampoo and conditioner came in tiny bottles, probably enough for one shower for one person. If there are two of you, forget it. You can hear an echo when you talk in the room. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever seen in Europe, actually in the world.

Sandra at reception was professional and pleasant when she checked me in. Thanks, I’ll come back. The WiFi was excellent, and my room was large and clean. The hotel isn’t on a busy road, so there was no noise even with the window open. My bathroom was spacious and had a shower. Almost all rooms have a small cooking area with a mini fridge, heating plate, sink, and microwave. I was alone, so the twin beds weren’t a problem, but if you’d rather have one large bed, it may be worth mentioning when you book.
