Hotel Esplanade Dortmund

The breakfast was excellent, and Paulina from the breakfast team was really friendly. We only stayed one night with my, but it was one of our best hotel experiences in Dortmund. At reception, Mr. Hazeem was especially kind. He helped us order a taxi, brought us another blanket late at night, and the drinks were amazing. The reception team was very friendly overall. The ground-floor bathrooms could have been cleaner. We'll definitely come back on our next visit. Keep going Esplanade ❤️💕❤️

The staff were good people, and the location was okay. But the bed had separate mattresses and was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was awkward too, with the toilet separate from the shower. I'd never seen that before. During our five days, nobody came to clean the room, and we didn't even get fresh towels after a few days.

The apartment wasn't serviced at all during my five nights. Nobody cleaned, emptied the bin despite the kitchen waste, or brought fresh towels or linens, which took away from the comfort of the stay. The bathroom light was out and the internet barely reached the room when I arrived, though reception got both issues sorted the next day. The staff were the best part, especially Mia at the front desk. I arrived an hour early and she already had my apartment ready, walked me through the facilities, and gave clear directions with a genuine smile. Her colleague on shift was just as friendly and professional, and handled my concerns with real care. I had booked an apartment rather than a standard room, so there was plenty of space and a handy kitchenette. At first the king-size bed, made from two mattresses with a gap in between, was uncomfortable for me because of my size. I mentioned it to reception, and they quickly sent housekeeping to add a good quality mattress topper, which made a big difference. Breakfast was a highlight, with lots of tasty options. Christian in the restaurant made mornings nicer with his warm service, and the blond, curly-haired barman at the hotel bar was fantastic and made it feel welcoming. I stayed during InterTabac 2025 and had a delightful time overall. The breakfast buffet, the quick fixes, and the warmth and professionalism of Mia, her colleague, Christian, and the barman made the stay enjoyable. I'd recommend it if housekeeping and maintenance improve.

The location worked really well for me, close to everything I needed. I liked the hotel and the service too, everything felt pleasant and well organized. A great stay.
