The location was fantastic, and the place itself was lovely, spacious, and clean. The staff were kind, though communication was difficult since most spoke only German, not English, French, Spanish, or Czech, the languages we speak. We also expected more thorough service because daily cleaning was advertised, but that didn't happen. And we hadn't expected to pay extra for the water in the fridge.

Near the Frauenkirche, the Burgerei restaurant is well worth stopping in for a meal. The setting is beautiful, the staff are friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices are excellent for the quality.

The room was comfortable and felt homely, and the hotel staff were very attentive. I'd happily give it five stars, except our room's outside view wasn't very nice. It seems that only the deluxe apartments get a better view. One small suggestion: a few tea bags alongside the instant coffee would make tea drinkers happy, and surely wouldn't cost much! ;-)

On the corner of Frauenstraße 14 and Neumarkt, this building is part of Quarter V/2, alongside the Köhler House and another house. It’s called the Heinrich Schütz House because Heinrich Schütz lived in the original building here from 1629 to 1657. The Renaissance children’s dance relief frieze has been preserved or rebuilt, and once again makes a striking feature of the corner. It’s the counterpart to Dresden’s Dance of Death relief frieze.
