Hilton Dresden

The rooms on the top, fifth floor are huge mezzanines, as you can see in the video and photos. There’s a half bathroom downstairs, with a full, large bathroom, big bed, dining table, and full-size desk upstairs. They’re impressive, though the stairs may not suit everyone. I can’t say what the lower-floor rooms are like. The hotel has plenty of charm, and its old building fits the historic center of Dresden really well. Breakfast is very good, and the staff are professional and polite.

The pool and jacuzzi are fabulous, and so is the Executive Lounge. Staff were really friendly and helpful. It’s a lovely hotel in the heart of the old town, with an amazing location. I’d highly recommend it for a stay in Dresden.

I really enjoyed the location, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The lounge was nice too, though its staff weren’t particularly friendly. The room was okay, but the staff generally weren’t friendly, and among the Hilton hotels I’ve stayed at, this was probably my least favorite. I was very annoyed when some keyrings and bracelets I’d bought at a local shop disappeared after the cleaners had been in on the first day. I’d left them in the cupboard above the fridge rather than in the safe, so I can’t prove what happened. The bracelets were for an evening event that was taking place that night.

We liked being right in the center of the old town, close to lots of restaurants and a river spot with great sunsets. We were there for three nights on our first visit, as my friend is a member. The room looked simple and rather old inside, though the bed was comfortable and in line with the Hilton standard. Reception service was nice from check-in through checkout. The small Executive Lounge was pleasant, with happy hour from 6-8pm and adequate food and drinks. Breakfast was good, but the Asian options were minimal. The gym and hot and steam sauna were good, while the swimming pool was okay. We had a good experience overall.
