Hotel Indigo Dresden - Wettiner Platz by IHG

Getting around was easy, with the streetcar right by the hotel and just one stop to downtown, or a safe 10-minute walk. A great bakery, sandwich and coffee shop is next door, and there’s a fabulous restaurant with its own brewery just steps away. There isn’t much else in the way of shops or services nearby. The staff were wonderful and accommodating, check-in was easy, and we had a couple of drinks at the bar and a really nice chat with the very friendly bartender. Our room was very clean and freshly appointed, but the divider between the bed and seating area made the layout feel cramped. There wasn’t enough room for two suitcases without taking up the limited seating space. The heating control was also hard to figure out since the dial wasn’t labeled.

The room and waiting area felt a bit small, but the place was clean, the breakfast choices were top notch, and the staff were great. It’s centrally located in Dresden and very good value for money. A nicely decorated place to stay while visiting the city.

I slept very well, and I really appreciated the receptionist who noticed I’d ordered food delivery and offered cutlery before I had to ask. The hotel and rooms are modern, clean, attractive, and the staff are polite and friendly, though the rooms are on the small side. But from the perspective of someone who spends a lot of time traveling for work, it wasn’t a good fit. There are very few parking spaces, and without luck you can end up circling the block again and again after a long day. I was also surprised that a four-star hotel served only frozen, ready-made meals. For my usual routine of arriving, parking, eating, sleeping, and leaving, the hotel only met one of my needs. This will be a one-time stay for me.

It’s convenient for getting around, close to Dresden Mitte station and the trams, and attractions are just a short walk away. The hotel itself was quiet and clean. The only drawback was that you could sometimes hear people walking around in the room above.
