Maritim Hotel & Internationales Congress Center Dresden

The hotel is in a great location and is well maintained. My one concern was finding vegetables with fungus in our lunch. The staff didn't seem concerned about it.

We'd had a mediocre experience in Titisee and weren't sure about booking this hotel, but we ended up loving it. The facilities are great for families. Even with the hotel so large and full of guests, the staff were highly professional and gave us friendly, personalized advice and guidance. Dinner was good, breakfast was wonderful, and the loyalty programme is very interesting. Bravo!

The hotel itself was great: clean, comfortable rooms, a beautiful location, and everything well maintained. The restaurant visit, though, left us uncomfortable, and we wondered if we were treated differently because we weren't German. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food and drinks came quickly, but paying €27 for two currywurst and two sparkling waters felt excessive. We asked a waitress for the menu instead of waiting for someone to come over, which may not have been entirely appropriate. Still, another waitress responded by shaking her head, which felt unwelcoming and a bit unprofessional. Payment was also awkward: our room number didn't work, so we tried using the number of the person who had paid for the rooms, but they weren't there to sign. A staff member sighed audibly, which came across as dismissive. I ended up going back to my room for cash. The whole thing made for an unpleasant meal, and I'm hesitant to eat there again during our stay. I hope the feedback helps improve the service for future guests.

There was almost nothing in the room: no iron or robes, and no way to make tea or coffee. We were told robes would cost five euros each, and sauna access was another five euros. They charge extra for even basic services, which doesn't fit the hotel's claimed star rating. I wouldn't recommend it; customer satisfaction doesn't seem to be a priority.
