31st of December 2025. Michael, the head barman at my hotel, made an exceptional Pisco Sour that rounded off my day, or really my whole year, beautifully. This guy knows his stuff. Worth the detour, the stay, and the evening. Bravo to Michael, and happy new year.

The staff were great and parking was easy. The rooms are a good size, with an unusual style. For a 4-star hotel, it’s strange that there’s no fridge or coffee maker. The bathroom is big but not very practical: the sink is small, and there’s nowhere to put cosmetics except on the floor.

The only good thing was being within walking distance of the city center. The room and toilet were dirty, and the bed linen was stained and yellow, nowhere near 4-star standards. The staff were nice and friendly, but our room was next to the elevator and very noisy. There are train tracks close to the hotel too, so the constant train noise made it hard to sleep. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re sensitive to noise.

My room felt spacious and had nice views, and the staff were very good. It’s a lovely, clean hotel in a good location, with an easy tram ride to the main train station. I didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t speak to that.

Hotel Penck has beautiful design, professional staff, and a brilliant location. The city center is just a few steps away, and the tram stop is close by. Dresden’s excellent transport system makes it easy to get anywhere from the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, and it’s peaceful and quiet. For a great price, it’s hard to ask for more. I’ll be very happy to come back.
