Pension Dresdener Panorama

The first interaction was positive: the man at reception was friendly and helped with our luggage. Later, though, I felt deeply offended by how unprofessional the situation was handled. Shortly before checkout, another guest came to our room and asked us to close the shower door, saying there was a water infiltration issue, or something like that, on the floor below. I apologized and went to check the bathroom while my wife was showering. The shower door was already shut, the bathroom was completely dry, and even the towels on the floor were dry. I tried to find the man so I could explain that the leak hadn’t come from an open shower door, but I couldn’t find him or anyone at reception, so I wasn’t able to tell them at the time. Instead, we got a message thanking us for the water damage and telling us we should close the shower door. Wait, what? We’ve stayed in several hotels and traveled around Europe for 30 days without any complaints. I felt blamed without anyone asking what happened or checking the dry bathroom. In my opinion, the attitude was xenophobic. Would they have made the same assumption and sent the same message if we were European? I don’t think so. I’ll consult a lawyer about the message and situation. If there was water infiltration, it could have come from another room or the bathroom stall rather than an open shower door. Because of this offensive experience, I can’t give more than one star.

The location is handy for public transportation, and the service is quick and professional. The rooms are nice and spacious. I haven’t tried the restaurant yet.

There’s no air conditioning or mosquito netting on the windows. On the plus side, parking is free and private, the internet is good, and breakfast is nice.

We had the best night of our vacation here. The pension is welcoming and hospitable, with spotless facilities and a peaceful atmosphere.
