The apartment has a thoughtful green and fair approach, from local solar power and organic cotton bed linen to real wood furniture and little wooden pens for marking the organic, fair, regional snacks and drinks you use. You can also have breakfast at the café, beautifully set out on an old piano, with rolls from a local organic bakery. Our boy enjoyed the kids' corner, which was really helpful. My wife, son, and I had a wonderful week at the "Weltcafé" apartment. Dresden is a must-see, and we'd definitely recommend staying here. One thing for next time, though: we hope the landlord replaces the windows or improves their insulation. Reisewitzer Str. can be disturbing if you're sensitive to noise.

I haven't stayed overnight at Weltcafé yet, but I've enjoyed visiting. The host is really friendly, and hackers and geeks should find plenty to talk about with the long-time Linux user. The drinks selection is varied, and while the food menu isn't huge, what I've tried has been delicious. The tomato soup, crispy baguettes topped with cheese, and savory vegetable waffles have all been a treat. Whether you're after a Lammsbräu, a Bionade Radler, or a Premium Diesel, which is premium cola with premium beer, in the summer greenery, or want to warm up in winter with Zott hot chocolate or fair-trade coffee, Weltcafé Dresden is a great spot.
