Hotel Dulmener Hof

We had a birthday dinner at the restaurant with my boyfriend, and it was a lovely evening. The waiters spoke English really well. Our mixed platter had beef steak, mushrooms, vegetables, and potatoes, with generous portions and a delicious taste. The wine and a few other drinks were all worth it. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes steak.

Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and parking was plentiful with a nice flat area. The dining rooms, bar, and beer garden were all beautiful and looked great.

We ended up paying for our drinks and leaving without ordering dinner. It had taken about 40 minutes before we could even place an order, and we were told they weren't a fast food chain and that it was busy. Around two thirds of the tables were occupied, though. I don't expect food to arrive within 40 minutes, but I do expect someone to take our order sooner, especially after we asked for menus when we sat down. They came over after a while to take our drink order, but said we'd get menus later. Those arrived after another 15 minutes, followed by another 15-20 minutes before we could order. I can only give one star and would recommend another restaurant in the area.

Loud staff parties just outside the accommodation spoiled my recent stay. Several of the nine people in our party couldn't sleep until the parties ended, usually around 4am, and our repeated complaints were ignored. We've stayed at this hotel five times over the years. The food has been excellent, the accommodation adequate, and service has stayed good, largely thanks to the long term staff I've got to know. The hotel changed hands recently. We'll be back in the area next year, but not at the Dulmener Hof.
