The toilet didn’t flush properly, and the heating in room 20 wasn’t working. I reported it at check-in, but nothing happened for eight hours. When I spoke to the manager, he said they had to deliver food to a party first and could deal with it afterward. He didn’t seem to care that I wanted to shower after work without catching a cold. Eventually a friendly employee tried to fix the heating, but couldn’t. They gave me a 2000-watt fan heater to keep warm, and it ran all night. The staff apart from the manager were friendly, and breakfast was okay, so that’s why I gave two stars.

The rooms are okay for one night, but I wouldn’t stay any longer. The price is fair for what you get. The building looks quite run-down outside and very old-fashioned inside. It takes some getting used to being in the middle of an industrial area, with disused factories all around.

An absolute nightmare. My room was a converted bathroom, with a yellowed plastic shower head that didn’t give any hot water. It smelled musty, and there was a garage dehumidifier under the bed.

The food is genuinely excellent, and the atmosphere is really nice. For a good-value stay when you want somewhere decent rather than luxurious, this is a great fit.
