Hotel Flora Düsseldorf

The room size was okay, and it had A/C, but the remote’s battery was dead. We had to wait until the next day for a replacement. The A/C also made a noise every 10 or 15 minutes, and when I reported it, reception said they couldn’t do anything. The fridge wasn’t cold enough either. The staff were friendly, prices were good, and the place was clean. The location was okay, but I wouldn’t call this a four-star hotel. It should be rated three stars. I didn’t try the food, so I can’t comment on it. The parking lot was too small and hard to get in and out of, and a little expensive: I paid €60 for four days.

On our return for the second part of the trip, different staff took an interest and got the reservation issue resolved. We’d booked a studio apartment a block from the hotel, and it was very nice, clean and spacious. The accommodation deserves five stars, but the customer service on our first arrival gets one. We’d booked on the Novum Hotel website, with one night at the start and two more nights at the end of our travels. At the front desk, they couldn’t find our reservation, even though we had the confirmation email and numbers with us. I don’t blame the local hotel for the mistake, since it was made through the corporate site. Still, the clerk who greeted us seemed unwilling to make calls or check our receipts. It took nearly two hours to agree on getting us a room while they looked into the problem overnight. The next morning, there was still no answer, and checkout took another 30 minutes without confirmation of our return stay. If they hadn’t already charged us, we’d probably have stayed somewhere else.

I was in Düsseldorf for a conference and had a really pleasant three-night stay in the room Novum Flora gave me. It was a bit small, but it was great for the price. I came back from the conference to a clean bed each day, which made the stay much better. Very nice hotel for a great price, and I’d highly recommend Novum flora to anyone staying in Dusseldorf.

The breakfast was awesome, and the hotel was clean and in a great location. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made for a great stay. I was pleasantly surprised. If you’re there for more than a night or two, I’d recommend paying for breakfast.
