The prices are a real plus: €44 a night with breakfast is very affordable, and I'd gladly stay here again if I'm nearby. The place feels homey and welcoming, though the entrance is a little unsettling. The room is decent but short on amenities. You can definitely smell the restaurant, too. The staff are super friendly and helpful, though you need a bit of patience.

The noise from the old ventilation made it impossible to sleep, and at 6 a.m. I was woken by the sound of schnitzel being tenderized. The rooms were dirty, with weak shower pressure and water that only got slightly warm after 10 minutes. Furnishings looked like they were from the 1950s, the bathrooms were ancient and sunken, and the whole place smelled awful. Breakfast wasn't ready at 8 a.m.; the choice was meager, and the dining area was old and dirty too. Charging €44 for this is outrageous. Horrible and unacceptable!

The three-course meal was excellent value, and the apple fritters were fantastic, definitely worth trying. Our waiter was a charming, very friendly older gentleman.

A pleasant atmosphere, good prices for every budget, and traditional German cooking. This family business has been around for a long time and is now run by the third generation.
