Hotel St. Georg

At the St Georg, the service was outstanding, and Bjorn speaks English. A little basic German still helps. There weren't many Americans in Ediger-Eller, which made the stay feel local. The village is beautiful and peaceful, with amazing wine. The wine shops (weinguts) make their own schnapps too, which is brilliant, and there's a very nice weingut two doors from the St Georg. We stayed five nights in October 2025 in Apt 3, on the third floor facing the Moselle. The little balcony was covered in blooming flowers and had a sweeping river view. Breakfast was excellent, with eggs, sliced deli meats, cheese, fruit, plenty of local breads, yogurt and more. Dinner was fantastic too. The menu wasn't huge, but had plenty of local specialties in generous portions with great sauces. The pork schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce was especially good. The location is perfect for exploring the Moselle valley. Ediger-Eiler is a lovely, sleepy town about halfway between Trier and Koblenz. You can take river boats up and down the Moselle. We took a day trip to Cochem on the Europa, which stops in front of the St Georg. The town has wineries, restaurants and ancient buildings. Any walk is a good one, just follow the river.
