Berghaus Carlsfeld

The terrace has a lovely view, and the rooms have a quaint feel. It’s a peaceful, secluded spot, with an outdoor pool and spa area. There’s even a lift to bring heavy luggage straight up from the parking lot. We had a great time and will come back.

We made good use of the sauna, whirlpool, and tiled stove, and I really liked the cabin’s atmosphere. I was there as a companion rather than for winter sports, so I spent most of my time at the cabin. The others appreciated how close the ski lift and various places for outings were. Some rooms have small single beds built into the walls. My husband managed, but didn’t find his bed especially comfortable. That’s a minor quibble alongside everything else, which was perfect. I didn’t speak with the owners, so I can’t really say much about them, though they seemed fine.

The lodge has a fascinating history, and its setting is enchanting and quite unique. Our family had a lovely Whitsun holiday there. We were greeted so warmly, and the hosts were welcoming, helpful, and easy to deal with. We’d very much like to return. Thank you!

We’d love to come back from Norway and spend another holiday in lovely Carlsfeld. Standing at the terrace rail at the Berghaus, you feel like royalty. The house is beautifully located and has everything a family with children could want, and then some. Booking was easy thanks to the owners’ warm, relaxed manner, and we had such a good stay that we wanted more.
