City Hotel

The staff were friendly, and the location is very convenient, close to the train station with a supermarket and drugstore opposite. The rooms were basic but clean. My partner's mattress had springs almost poking through, though he could still sleep on it without being bothered. The beds could use an update. Breakfast wasn't bad, but it was chaotic at times. You could only sit where cutlery had been laid out, yet many tables had already been cleared and weren't reset with new cutlery. The basket of boiled eggs was often empty.

The hotel sits at the city's main crossroads, so it was noisy. The place needs renovation, and there was no parking garage. We used the public garage across the road for 12€ a night. The restaurant menu put us off, though there are nice places to eat nearby. Breakfast was mediocre, and the reception's insistence on prepayment made for a hostile welcome. Management's note called it more "practical." If you like a soft mattress, the bed is OK, but my back didn't agree.

We stayed for two nights and I enjoyed it a lot. I had an apartment room with a large kitchen, living room, bedroom, and a big bathroom with a bathtub, which made things more convenient and cosy. The style is quite simple, so don't expect modern design, but it was fine. The hotel is next to the railway and bus stations, and the old town is only a 10-minute walk away.

We loved the hotel's restaurant, especially how affordable it was. Our hostess impressed us by running the front desk, tending the bar, and cooking such delicious meals. The rooms were clean, the service was great, and the hotel is right by the central station. I'd recommend staying here to anyone, 10/10!
