ibis Eisenach

This is a budget place, so the rooms are plain and practical, better for a night on the road than a longer stay. Still, it was good value and better than I expected after a Budget Ibis in Poland the previous night. Staff were friendly, and they even waived the 3 Euro parking charge because we were taking aid to Ukraine. Breakfast had a nice range of choices. I did find it odd to have a large double bed but just one small pillow and a single duvet. The room might feel chilly to some, though the temperature suited me.

We'd said when booking that we'd arrive late, but the hotel still called that night to ask what time we'd get there. In the end, our keys were left in the hallway where anyone could reach them, with almost no directions to the rooms. The room itself was very hot and unpleasant, with no air conditioning. There was a bright red smear in the bathroom, and the shower pressure was very weak.

The breakfast was very good. The hotel itself is large and has little character, though everything was clean and in order. Parking also came with a sneaky 3€ surcharge.

We slept well here, with a good mattress and no traffic noise, and the place was clean. Breakfast buffet was tasty, and reception staff were friendly and helpful. The price for what you get is very good. Ibis Hotel Eisenach sits outside the city, in lovely green surroundings. The bus stop is a seven-minute walk away; from there you can reach the bus station, next to the train station, and take a city bus around Eisenach for 1.80 €. There was so much to see that our stay wasn't long enough. I'd recommend it. Francisca B. Málaga - Spain. 07.11.2022 - 13.11.2022
