We only had one night here, which felt far too short. The whole place has a special, welcoming feel, and the people were so warm. Booking and arriving were easy, too. The rooms are furnished with a lot of care, and you can wander through and enjoy nearly all the rooms in the house. There’s also a little terrace and a small courtyard where it’s easy to spend a quiet, relaxing hour. We’ll definitely come back. It was a lovely experience that meant a lot to us.
The building itself is worth a look, and the welcome is always friendly. I’m happy to stop here whenever I’m on the Elster Cycle Path. Between Zeitz and Leipzig, it’s one of the loveliest places along the route. You can get coffee and delicious cake, or just grab a snack. If you cycle straight past without stopping, you’re missing a treat.
It’s a lovely place to stay if you’re after somewhere unusual. The old manor house still has its original character, with historic touches and distinctive details, and it’s being renovated bit by bit. There’s a small beer garden, covered bike parking, and spacious rooms that all hotel guests can use. It’s right on the cycle path, too. The staff are attentive and warmly welcoming, and breakfast is generous and delicious.

Take a canoe along the winding White Elster River and there’s breathtaking nature around every bend. The partially restored Göbitz manor house is full of history, and together with the beautiful Elster floodplain it almost makes you forget you’re in Germany. It’s a truly special spot. I highly recommend staying a few nights.
