The room was small and standard, with a TV, two beds, and a modern bathroom. Smoking isn’t allowed inside the hotel, though there are a few chairs in a carport set aside as a smoking area. It’s easy to find, just 50-100 meters from the Borkum ferry and the Emden Außenhafen train station.

Fine for one night if you’re taking the ferry to Borkum the next day, but don’t arrive with high expectations. We got there at 2 pm and found a note saying new arrivals should call. When we did, we were dealt with very rudely because it was before 3 pm. We said we’d just spend the hour outside the door, which didn’t seem to go down well. They did let us into our rooms early after all, but we didn’t feel welcome. We had to say right away what we wanted for breakfast and when, and the breakfast was very tasty the next morning. The rooms were dated, but clean and a good size, and the bathroom was okay too. When it was time to leave, we couldn’t find anyone, so we left the key and went.

The ferry is only about a five-minute walk away, which is great. The room was cute and clean, and worked well for a one-night stop. It was a little noisy, but if you’re tired, you’ll sleep. The service was very attentive, and it was surprisingly quiet given that it’s on a main road.

It was alright for one night. There’s a main road right outside the window, though the parking lot is large. Check-out is very strict. We asked if we could stay another 5-10 minutes and were told no.
