Hotel-Garni Pfeffermühle

The rooms were very clean, and the owner was nice and easy to talk to. Hygiene measures were followed, and there was free parking on the property. Still, I wouldn't choose this hotel a second time. It feels old and hasn't been modernized since it was built in the 70s. We paid €96, with breakfast not included. There's no fridge in the room, only a small one in the front hallway. The downstairs restaurant and bowling alley were closed, and the entrance hallway smelled musty. I didn't take any pictures because I didn't want to remember the place.

The hotel feels like it's from another era, but it still works. The room was spotless and well equipped, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful, with lots of choices and warm bread. Finding someone who could make a soft-boiled egg made it worth the price.

My room wasn't good at all. When I arrived, I found three spiders in the bathroom, and when I pulled the curtain in my room, cobwebs came apart. The mattress was way too soft and awful for my back. One morning I woke up to a strong fast-food smell coming into the room from the snack bar downstairs.

The room was okay, and the breakfast was actually quite decent. But the rest of the stay was rough. The hotel door was locked, so we had to come in through the attached fast-food restaurant. Its dining room was creepy, dark, and straight out of the 70s, and the restaurant was closed. We were told to leave our bikes outside. After we objected, they let us put them in the "club room," which was even worse than the dining room and really just a junk room. At €58 per room, it might have been acceptable, but €88 was completely overpriced. We wouldn't have stayed if we had another option.
