Dorint Hotel am Dom Erfurt

My room wasn’t ready when I arrived, so I had to wait a couple of hours to check in. Aside from that, it was generally clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was really good. I’d give both the rooms and service 4/5, and recommend staying at this hotel.

The parking may be tight if you get there after 6 pm. On warmer days, I’d sit out on the terrace, since the glass makes the bar feel pretty hot. The rooms are fairly modern, the staff are very friendly, and there are some pleasant spots to relax. It’s also only a short walk into town. I’d recommend the hotel.

Coming back after 20 years was lovely. I first stayed here with my husband when the hotel opened, and this time I returned with my daughter. The rooms are still clean, comfortable, and well cared for, and the AC works perfectly. Breakfast was great, with very kind and helpful waitresses. The lobby remains spacious and welcoming, and check-in and checkout went smoothly thanks to the professional, friendly receptionists. I have nothing but good things to say about the hotel and staff. We’ll definitely be back!

The location is the one good thing here. At €200, I expected much better, and I’d rate it two stars. The room was extremely dated, the bed was firm and uncomfortable, and the double bed I was given was too small for me to lie on without hanging over the edge. I had reserved a single, so I asked to switch. The manager said the hotel had no single rooms at all, even though both my colleagues had one. The window barely opens, and the room cooling blew hot air. They also charged me for parking despite my explaining several times that I’d used the public parking area and showing my ticket. Then I was charged for breakfast, which wasn’t included in my stay. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The services don’t justify the price.
