I found this place late one evening using my car’s GPS, after everything in town was full. I hadn’t been to Erfurt in 10 years and wanted to see what had changed. I usually find somewhere by 3-4 in the afternoon, but this time it was too late. The owner had already gone to bed, but came to the door, gave me a room key, and said we could sort out the details in the morning. She was charming. I planned to stay for one night and ended up staying three. Breakfast was wonderful, and the owners were very friendly. Their daughter spoke English, which made things easy, and did my laundry, wash and fold, for a great price. That’s always hard to sort out on a long trip. I had dinner there one evening, and the food and beer were both very good. The rooms were clean. If I get back to Erfurt, I’ll stay here again.

We all really enjoyed our meal, and I especially liked the goulash. The card machine wasn’t working, unfortunately, but they helped us find another way to pay.

A lovely place for a romantic getaway, with friendly, efficient service. The location is quiet, the surroundings are lovely, and forest walking trails are easy to reach. There’s also a beautiful pub nearby.
