Essensio Sport Hotel Spa

The rooms are very nice, and the restaurant was good, both the food and the staff. It’s calm and quiet, and there’s a nice gym. The service still has some rough edges, though. There was nobody at reception from 9 pm to 8 am, so no one was at the desk early in the morning when we needed to check out. We also had a hard time finding an iron and ironing board that worked well enough to iron a shirt. Of the four of us, two had hot water and two didn’t.

I left my laptop charger in the room, and after I got home the hotel contacted me to ask what I wanted done with it. I asked if they could send it back and said I’d gladly pay the postage, but they returned it at no extra cost. That was excellent service, and I’d be glad to come back. The stay itself was excellent too: friendly, good service, clean rooms with everything we needed, and a good breakfast with nice coffee. We also ate well in the restaurant.

I had no idea what to expect from this lovely hotel in a quaint village, but it was well worth the trip. The sauna, cold plunge tub, cold plunge pond, and gym massagers were epic. Breakfast was included and great, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. There are miles of hiking trails with easy access, and it’s within walking distance of a grocery store, brauhaus, and other restaurants in town. The city isn’t too far either.

The gym was just amazing, with the newest tech and a massive range of equipment. The sauna was lovely too, with 4-5 wonderful saunas and steam rooms. The food was great, everything was clean, and the staff were amazing. The only downsides were no air conditioning in the rooms and no mosquito nets on the windows.
