Hotel und Gasthof Ritter St. Georg

Just after Christmas, we showed up with ten people at short notice and were lucky to get a table at 1 pm. They still had the lovely decorations up in several rooms. The food was excellent Franconian fare, and it arrived quickly.

The breakfast had a lovely range of options, and the staff were friendly. Our modern room and bathroom were spotless and well equipped. There was plenty of space for suitcases, a comfortable desk, good lighting, and lots of outlets for our phones and laptops. The bathroom was thoughtfully laid out, with a powerful hairdryer, a soft-close bin, and a heated towel rail.

A good spot if you want to be reasonably central while staying in a beautiful landscape. The food is quite good too.

We checked in advance whether both of our cars could be charged, since our party had ten people, including six children. They said that wouldn’t be a problem, but when we arrived there was only one charger. We ended up driving to a gas station late at night and walking 2 km to use the supercharger. Our group was also split between two locations. Twice, we were told the place down the road had a four-person bedroom. When the other half of the family arrived late, they found only three beds, so we had to move one child across town at night. We’d booked a four-person suite and two four-person bedrooms, but were given two two-person rooms with a folding bed and one four-person room. The crew brushed us off rudely, and we were given wrong information about the room down the road. By far the worst stopover we’ve had in Germany. Unwelcoming, rude, and lacking information. Never again.
