Gstehaus am Heuss-Platz

After spending a long time in Germany, I was really impressed by the hospitality here. The receptionist and manager were always available when I needed them, and the management and staff deserve credit for that. The room was very clean, with enough amenities, and the atmosphere was quiet. The decor was kept up well too. A really excellent place.

The room had a TV and a nice view, and there’s a small grocery shop right beside the building for snacks or supplies. Its location also worked perfectly for me, very close to the FAU Erlangen Informatik Institute. In the room, I had a little kitchen with plates, pots, cutlery, an electric kettle, and tea and coffee for the day. Shampoo, soap, and towels were provided too. I was impressed by how clean and tidy everything was. I asked for the room to be cleaned the next day, and they did a thorough job in every corner. The price felt unbelievably good for the room and service. The receptionist was kind and helpful as well. When I couldn’t find the check-in entrance, I called and they came downstairs to point me toward it. It’s the white door on the right side of the building. There was some noise from neighbors at certain times during the night, and the bed made noises too. It was fine for me and didn’t affect my stay much. I had a great time in Erlangen, and the experience went beyond what I expected. I’d recommend it if you’re after a clean, comfortable, convenient stay that’s good value.

It gets very cold here in winter. Still, the place is tidy, not far from the university, and has free Wi-Fi and a nice breakfast.

It does what it says on the tin. Just be aware that it’s a long walk to anywhere in town.
