The stay itself was fine, but getting around can be a hassle without a car since there’s little near the hotel. If the ground-level parking is full, the underground option costs €15 per night. The DB station is about a 10-minute walk away; Erlangen is one stop north and cost me €3 each way. You can also walk there in roughly 30 minutes. Breakfast doesn’t change from day to day, so a stay of several weeks might get repetitive. They do put out fresh bell peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes, which was nice, and the coffee was good. Weekend breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m., so you can’t eat there if you need to check out earlier. You could try asking whether they can arrange something. The underground garage has a barrier and a shutter. The shutter is generally open, though it may be closed at night or early morning. I only learned when checking out that, when it’s shut, a rope hanging some distance away opens it. The route from the garage into the hotel also confused me: go outside, turn right, drive to the end, and look for a door on the right just before the wall. Once inside, finding the stairs was tricky too, though I eventually managed. There is an elevator, and the hotel also has air conditioning. I needed the heating during my stay, but it was weak, and the dry air made my nose hurt. The hotel was clean and comfortable enough, but the area around it felt dull. On my last day, the sun was out, so I drove to a place called Solar Mountain. The views were great and the stars at night were beautiful. I’ll review that place too.

Parking is available on site, and breakfast is good and free. The hotel sits in Erlangen’s industrial and commercial area, so walking to the city centre is a bit of a trek and I’d suggest taking a taxi. Inside, it feels new and modern, with excellent fixtures, fittings, and furniture. The main letdown was how attentive management seemed. Reception is beside the bar, but the staff there need to notice when the lone barman is trying to serve four or five people with food and drinks just two or three metres away.

It’s a well-run three-star hotel that beats plenty of places calling themselves four-star, including some in Munich. The decor is stylish, everything’s new and clean, and the rooms are roomy enough. Staff are friendly, there’s outdoor and indoor parking, and the internet connection is stable. They even leave small welcome gifts.

The staff were helpful and there’s plenty of space in the parking garage, though electric car charging isn’t available. The modern rooms are comfortable, and I appreciated having a Bluetooth speaker. My room was a little cold, and breakfast was crowded in the restaurant.

It’s in a quiet spot near the highway, and both breakfast and checkout times are customer-friendly, with later hours on Sundays. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and breakfast had a good range of food that was replenished often. The staff were very polite and approachable despite being busy. The receptionist in particular was juggling a lot and handled it well, though the multitasking meant customers had to wait.
