I liked the clean hotel and kind staff, and the homemade breakfast jams were really good. The pool had normal water and I enjoyed it, while the sauna was very small. There’s quite a bit that needs work. The breakfast was the lightest I’ve had at a four-star hotel: no bacon, sausages, local food, cereal, smoked salmon, or hot dishes apart from scrambled eggs. There was no shampoo or shower gel, no slippers, no still water available to buy for the room, and no bedroom fridge. The food wasn’t amazing, and the kitchen closed at 8 pm, with last orders at 7:30. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world and have never been asked to leave a €10 deposit for a room access card.

There’s a pool and spa, and the team are courteous and quick to help. The chefs prepare excellent food. It’s a lovely Alpine escape with an authentic Bavarian feel, and I don’t think you’ll find better accommodation in Bavaria.

We ate well, and the service was friendly and attentive. The outdoor seating beside the hotel’s own stream has lovely mountain views, including a great view of Nebelhorn. There’s also an indoor pool and a beautiful sauna. A fantastic, authentic Bavarian hotel and restaurant that I’d definitely recommend.

The sauna and kitchen are good, but the rooms are just so-so. For what you get, I think around 150 a night would make sense at most. Paying over 200 feels like too much.
