We felt at home in the holiday house, and it had everything we needed. It’s comfortable and well kept, with a fenced garden that works really well for small children. The beach and North Sea spa are only a few minutes on foot, and getting in touch with the owner was easy. Even with some unpleasant weather, we had a lovely stay in Bensersiel and would come back.

The owner offered compensation on the condition that I leave no negative review. I refused because I don’t want other renters to be misled. Maybe something will finally change now. The photos are very misleading. The house and grounds were neglected and dirty, and the shower cubicle was unacceptable. The garden wasn’t usable with those very tall birch trees, unless you want birch pollen in your coffee. It’s been quite a while since the house was properly cleaned or renovated. I attached photos. About the landlord’s comment: the house wasn’t cleaned again. They replaced a dirty travel cot and reimbursed about €30, half the cleaning charge. Anyone can judge the condition of the shower for themselves.
